This was a small part of a total room transformation. My two girls were ready to share a room, so something had to be done to organize and maximize the floor space. I had two libraries to marry and two beds to fit in their room. Hence the need for this crib to transform into its future self.
I can't help calling the crib's newly transformed self the Peek-a-boo bookcase. When my kids first saw their horse and ponies sitting on this ledge they hugged me and screamed "hooray our horses have a barn!" Hahahahahah if you only knew that's how I felt when I could leave you in that crib!
All of the wood was repurposed from our kids crib which they all used! Of course, over the years a few slats had been knocked out and some hardware needed replacing, but wow 3 kids!!
The wood is solid poplar boards that were originally white washed with a stain product by Miniwax. It was beautiful.
